Unit B4, ALEXANDRIA INDUSTRIAL ESTATE
The property development company, Goodman, recently engaged MAKE to develop a concept for the adaptive re-use of an existing warehouse in Alexandria. The space will house the South Sydney team and at the same time function as a marketing showcase for Goodman’s clients. The design brief was to create a contemporary office space within an industrial shell, working with the raw and unfinished qualities of the space to create a fresh and unexpected workspace.
Goodman commissioned MAKE to undertake a low budget makeover for Unit D1, an industrial/commercial space vacant for several years and in urgent need of some TLC. MAKE’s approach involved removing the existing ceiling grid to maximise height, grinding back existing concrete floors and inserting some simple plywood joinery. A graphic paint scheme in both the office and warehouse completed the fitout.
MAKE recently worked with Centuria to develop new solutions for an existing industrial space in Lane Cove. Developing proposals to subdivide the space into a series of smaller tenancies,MAKE also redesigned the façade, both to accommodate separate entrances and to update the building image with maximum graphic impact.
